The primary business of AgScape is to provide high quality, objective, and relevant agriculture and food related learning programs and services for Ontario educators, students and student influencers to stimulate critical thinking and dialogue in Ontario classrooms.

Position: Teacher Ambassador

Working under the supervision of the Program and Resource Manager, you will be responsible for virtual and/or in-

classroom delivery of lessons and presentations on agriculture and food related topics as part of the Teacher

Ambassador Program.

Type: Occasional work (anywhere in Ontario)

Compensation: Stipend based on work completed, with a maximum amount per day.

Responsibilities Teacher Ambassadors will deliver Ontario curriculum-linked agriculture and food-related lessons to students and teachers across the province.

Ambassadors will have a variety of opportunities to participate in agriculture and food education events and will work with AgScape to connect agriculture, food, environment and careers to student and teacher learning.

Ambassadors will work with AgScape staff to develop a local network of schools and events in which to deliver lessons and presentations using AgScape materials.

Qualifications

- Must meet one (1) of the following criteria:

o be in positive standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, o currently in a Bachelor of Education/Master of Teaching program, as recognized by the Ontario

College of Teachers o currently in an Early Childhood Education Program o registered as an Early Childhood Educator

- Must have access to a vehicle or public transportation
- Must have access to reliable internet and computer
- Comfortable with working with technology (i.e. educational technologies, a variety of web conferencing

software, Google Workspace etc.)
- Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Have the ability to take initiative and self-manage
- Communicate effectively through a variety of oral, written and digital forms
