Position OverviewOur Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) supports the reliability and efficient operation of equipment throughout Garibaldi Glass' 160,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. As part of the Maintenance team, this position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment upgrades, and supporting the installation of new equipment.Position OverviewOur Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) supports the reliability and efficient operation of equipment throughout Garibaldi Glass' 160,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. As part of the Maintenance team, this position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment upgrades, and supporting the installation of new equipment. The role works closely with the Maintenance team and other departments to minimize equipment downtime, improve operating efficiency, and ensure maintenance work is completed safely, effectively, and in accordance with company and equipment manufacturer requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesCompleting upgrades or repairs that will enhance operating efficiency and or life cycle of equipmentAssisting in teardowns, re-assembly and/or installation of mechanical equipmentEnsuring breakdowns are handled in the most productive mannerCarrying out mechanical, hydraulic,



and pneumatic adjustments on equipmentPerforming preventative maintenance per company and machine manufacturer's recommendationsEnsuring all work is completed to schedule and is cost effectiveCollaborating with maintenance coordinator on parts and services orderingEnsuring all maintenance-generated paperwork meets company proceduresParticipating in ongoing maintenance projectsUtilizing strong mechanical skills and experience to act as a mentor to apprentice millwrightsAdhering to all company safety standardsQualifications (Education, Experience, Training)Valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright ticket or equivalent experience/schooling1 -3 years of experience as an industrial mechanic within a manufacturing environmentWelding and fabrication experienceRequired Knowledge, Skill and AbilitiesExcellent trouble shooting skillsStrong oral and written English communication skillsStrong team player with the ability to also work independentlyAbility to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detailAbility to work within a dynamic and quickly changing environmentExperience in reading and drawing diagrams and schematicsAvailable to work either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - ThursdayAvailable to work holidays if shutdown maintenance is requiredWorking ConditionsThis position mainly works in a manufacturing environment.Manufacturing PlantTemperature controlled indoor areaComfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfortFrequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sights and soundsSafety sensitive environment with mobile equipment and overhead cranesPhysically demanding job requiring one to stand for extended periods of timeMost departments have a requirement to lift 50lbs or more
