fuel systems and other components.Perform major mechanical repairs and engine overhauls.Interpret technical drawings and schematicsMaintains and cares for all work areas, vehicles, and tools used to perform the locomotive and equipment servicingSkills, Knowledge, & AbilitiesAbility to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workloadStrong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in heavy equipment repair.Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and to maneuver in/through/around equipment easily and safelyAbility to meet Workplace Safety & Health standardsProficient with tools, test equipment and safe shop practicesGeneral computer skills with ability to learn new processesHold and maintain a valid driver's licenseAbility to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditionsWillingness to address emergency service problems at any time of day or nightEducation & ExperienceDiesel, automotive or heavy equipment experience.Experience working in heavy industrial environments and with similar equipmentNote: This description is not intended to limit the assignment of work or be construed as a complete list of the many duties to be performed by the incumbent.
