Payroll Administrator (12-month Contract) Function Human Resources Location Canada - BC - Richmond Classification SalariedFull-time, Temporary (12-month Contract)This position can be based out of Richmond, BC, Brossard, QC, or in AlbertaThe Payroll Administrator works within the payroll & HR administrative team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll for over 1000 employees in Canada and the US. This is a challenging position which involves multiple union agreements and pay frequencies. The ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail is highly important. A positive attitude and friendly customer service are essential. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a complex payroll setting using a variety of software tools, is well organized, and enjoys a fast paced work environment.ResponsibilitiesProcess payrolls for Canada and US locations as assignedRemit 3 rd -party payments including pension, workers compensation premiums, union dues and etc.Process year-end activities including reconciliations and issuance of tax forms including T4, W2 and T2200.Back-up and support for other team membersSupporting payroll and time system testingCommunicate with ADP Client Services to resolve issuesLiaise with finance department for funding and journal entry requirementsRespond to employee inquiries and requestsRespond to unemployment claims, verifications,



and statistical reportingEnsure collective bargaining agreements are interpreted for payroll system compliantly as the subject matter expert of payrollSupport payroll system implementationParticipate in other team projects assigned by the managerQualificationsProfessional Experience: Experience with complex payroll systems in multiple jurisdictions in Canada and US, experiences with Quebec payroll is an assetBasic understanding of payroll accountingUnion payroll experience is an assetTechnology Requirements: Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Workforce Manager, JD Edwards and Dayforce is an assetProficient with MS Office softwareAdditional Assets: Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management and multitasking skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamLanguages: Bilingual fluency in English and French is an assetWho We AreFounded in 1948, Graymont is a trusted global leader in essential calcium-based solutions.
