Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations (abdominal, pelvic, thyroid and superficial soft tissue mass) while observing patient safety practices. You will also liaise with other clinic staff, physicians and administrators to ensure effective delivery of our services. This is a part‐time position and hours will vary depending on the clinic's needs.ResponsibilitiesReceive and complete requisitions, enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system and prepare patients for specific proceduresGather and verify patient history and relevant information prior to beginning scanPerform ultrasound procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS policiesEnsure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scanMaintain current knowledge and understanding of PACSMaintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized and protected workspaceComply with patient safety and confidentiality policiesPerform related clerical and administrative duties as necessaryQualificationsCompletion of a recognized post‐diploma sonography program, or equivalentCurrent Sonography Canada registration in good standing - RequiredCRGSPrevious experience as a general sonographer, largely trans‐abdominal pelvic and abdominal scansCPR and WHMIS certification(s)
