BECL is Hiring Formwork Carpenters & Concrete Finishers

BECL is a local, established civil construction company that has been working throughout Canmore and the Bow Valley since 1983.

We are currently seeking skilled and dependable Formwork Carpenters & Concrete Finishers to join our dynamic and versatile team for year-round and seasonal work.

Our work includes concrete foundations, slabs, curbs, sidewalks, formwork, underground utilities, road construction, site development, and general civil construction.

Duties

- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans and construction specifications
- Complete accurate layouts in accordance with construction drawings
- Perform formwork carpentry, including setup, stripping and removal
- Install rebar and related reinforcing materials
- Place, spread and finish concrete flatwork, including curbs, sidewalks, slabs and foundations
- Use hand tools, power tools and power trowels to achieve high-quality concrete finishes
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow site plans, supervisor direction and safety procedures
- Work safely and efficiently in changing ground and weather conditions
- Follow all required safety protocols and report unsafe conditions or incidents





Experience Required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- CSA-approved safety boots
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in formwork and/or concrete finishing
- Must have own tools and tool belt
- WHMIS and CSTS certification, or willingness to obtain — training provided
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong safety awareness and safe work practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions

What BECL Offers
- $28.00–$35.00/hour, based on experience and ability
- Overtime at 1.5x after 8 hours/day and/or 44 hours/week
- Stat Holiday Pay (3.6%) & Vacation Pay (6%) added to hourly wages, with both available to be used at any time
- Travel allowance may be available for eligible employees commuting from outside the Bow Valley
- Hour Bank Benefits Program available after approximately a 3-month probationary period and review, administered through Green Shield and including prescription drugs, extended medical, dental, life insurance, short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability (LTD)
- On-site parking
- Company events and team activities

Hours
- 40–55+ hours per week, depending on the project
- Monday–Friday




- Occasional Saturdays
- Day shifts
- Permanent and seasonal positions available
