BECL is Hiring General Construction Labourers

BECL is a local, established civil construction company that has been working throughout Canmore and the Bow Valley since 1983.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dependable General Construction Labourers to join our dynamic and versatile team for year-round and seasonal work.

Our work includes excavation, underground utilities, road construction, grading, site development, concrete work, and general civil construction.

Duties

- Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas
- Set up and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps and barricades
- Mix, pour, spread and grade concrete and gravel
- Assist equipment operators and safely signal the movement of machinery
- Operate small tools and equipment, including compactors, compressors and pumps
- Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently
- Work alongside heavy equipment and assist operators as needed
- Use hand tools such as rakes and shovels to level and move materials




- Maintain job site cleanliness and perform general housekeeping
- Direct traffic on job sites to help maintain a safe work environment
- Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors
- Follow site plans, supervisor direction and safety procedures
- Work safely and efficiently in changing ground and weather conditions

Experience Required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- CSA-approved safety boots
- WHMIS and CSTS certification, or willingness to obtain — training provided
- Previous construction experience is an asset
- Robust commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, cold and heat
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and remain active throughout the workday

What BECL Offers
- $20.00–$26.00/hour, based on experience and ability
- Overtime at 1.5x after 8 hours/day and/or 44 hours/week
- Stat Holiday Pay (3.6%) & Vacation Pay (6%) added to hourly wages, with both available to be used at any time
- Travel allowance may be available for eligible employees commuting from outside the Bow Valley
- Hour Bank Benefits Program available after approximately a 3-month probationary period and review, administered through Green Shield and including prescription drugs, extended medical, dental, life insurance, short-term disability (STD), and long-term disability (LTD)

Hours
- 40–55+ hours per week, depending on the project
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional Saturdays
- Day shifts
- Permanent and seasonal positions available

Applicants should have suitable accommodation in Canmore/the Bow Valley before starting, or live within the 120 km travel allowance radius. Areas such as Exshaw, Cochrane, Calgary and surrounding communities may qualify, subject to company policy.
