This position is specifically for a vocal instructor, however we are always looking for someone who can teach more than one of our core five instruments!RESPONSIBILITIESMusic InstructionDeliver lessons to beginner and advanced students using the School of Rock Method with School of Rock Method Books and Method AppDocument and report on student progress in School of Rock systems at the end of each lessonMaximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and showsBe sure students are learning the fundamentals of music,



not just songsCreate and document thoughtful lesson plansAttend and successfully complete all required trainingAttend and participate in occasional meetings, as well as seasonal events and showsCustomer ConnectionCommunicate regularly with parents and admin on progress of students after lessonsInteract with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the schoolPitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of programsAssist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in schoolAdhere to the SOR Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.Other duties as assigned to help with school operationsREQUIREMENTS2 + years of experience as a musician - performing and/or teachingAbility to teach vocals at beginner to advanced levels.Diploma or degree in music and music theory from a recognized post-secondary institutionExcellent customer service skills with the ability to deal well with a wide range of peopleStrong organizational, resourcefulness and problem-solving skillsEnthusiastic, adaptable, patient, kind, and positive demeanor, with a passion for teachingExperience working with youth is an assetExcellent team player who loves to collaborate with othersA clean criminal record background check is required and is a condition of employmentThis position is entirely in-person at our Vancouver location. No remote work is available.This position is a casual / on-call, part-time position with shifts typically between 1pm to 9pm on weekdays, and 10am - 7pm on weekends. Shift length, times and days are subject to change and may vary depending on scheduled events and lesson schedules.
