Join our dynamic team as a General Labourer specializing in Tree Planting and Invasive Species Management! This energetic role offers the chance to contribute directly to environmental restoration projects, enhancing natural habitats and promoting healthy ecosystems. You will be actively involved in planting native trees, controlling invasive species, and maintaining landscaped areas to ensure thriving, sustainable environments.

Duties

- Assist with tree planting initiatives by preparing sites, digging holes, and planting saplings and caliper trees using hand tools and power tools.
- Manage invasive species by identifying, removing, and controlling unwanted plants to protect native flora. This includes applying herbicides under supervision of a licensed exterminator. Exterminator license an asset.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including watering, mulching, soil amendments and pruning to support plant health.
- Support habitat restoration efforts through gardening practices aligned with horticulture and landscape management standards.




- Follow safety protocols diligently while working outdoors in varying weather conditions, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications

- Plant identification skills, especially invasive species an asset.
- Experience managing invasive species by mechanical and/or chemical control.
- Experience planting trees and shrubs of varying sizes.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with hand tools and power tools for site work and equipment upkeep.
- Construction experience or familiarity with site preparation activities enhances your suitability for this role.
- Prior experience with equipment such as skid steer is highly desirable.
- Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent physical stamina for manual labour tasks involving digging, lifting, and operating machinery.
