ParklandGEO Ltd. is looking for a motivated Geotechnical & Environmental Field Technician to join our Grande Prairie team!

What You'll Be Doing

No two projects are exactly alike! Working alongside our Geotechnical and Environmental teams, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of field investigations, sampling programs, monitoring activities, and technical projects.

Geotechnical Work

- Assist with geotechnical investigations, drilling activities, soil sampling, and field testing.
- Support the installation and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation.
- Perform field and laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
- Assist with soil classification, technical data collection, and reporting.
- Maintain testing equipment and help troubleshoot technical challenges in the field.





Environmental Work

- Assist with Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments, as required.
- Conduct soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling and monitoring.
- Participate in environmental field investigations, including drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities.
- Assist with Environmental Construction Operations (ECO) Plans and environmental compliance monitoring.
- Compile field data, organize project files, interpret laboratory results, and assist with technical reporting.

Across Both Divisions

- Work alongside experienced professionals and technicians on a variety of projects.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop skills in both geotechnical and environmental consulting.
- Travel to project sites and participate in out-of-town and camp-based assignments as required.
- Follow ParklandGEO's health and safety policies, site-specific safety plans, and applicable legislation.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and client service.

What You Bring to the Team We are looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable, and ready to learn.

You will bring

- A diploma, degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in geotechnical engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in geotechnical, environmental, construction, or a related industry is preferred.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and an acceptable driver's abstract.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A positive attitude, solid work ethic, and willingness to take on new challenges.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project requirements.
- A commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- The ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork, including regularly lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime during peak periods, as required.
- The ability to travel and work out of town for varying durations, including camp-based projects.

These Skills Would Be an Asset Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset, but is not required:

- Environmental Site Assessments, including Phase I, II, or III investigations.
- Contaminated site assessment, remediation, or environmental monitoring.
- Soil classification,



drilling, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, or surface water sampling.
- Geotechnical instrumentation installation and monitoring.
- Construction or engineering consulting environments.
- Operating ATVs or side-by-sides.
- Familiarity with Alberta Tier 1 and Tier 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines.
- Hazardous building materials assessments or sampling.
- Safety certifications such as H2S, First Aid, CSTS, CSO, or Ground Disturbance.
