You'llhelp studentsparticipatein classes, engage in campus activities, build social connections, access resources, and develop the confidence and independence needed to achieve their goals.Working closely with the Learning Support Coordinator and Accessibility Services staff, you'll be part of creating a welcoming and inclusive campus where every student has the opportunity to succeed.This position is ideal for students interested in education, psychology, social work, healthcare, human services, disability studies, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, recreation therapy, or anyone passionate about supporting others and promoting inclusion.We are collaborating with NAIT, MacEwan and King's University. These positions are open to current post-secondary students who may be in classes at these campuses, or those who are not currently in school.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:Attend classes alongside assigned students, modelling effective classroom participation and helping them understand course expectationsSupport students in organizing coursework, understanding assignments, and developing effective study habitsEncourage the use of academic accommodations andassiststudents in communicating with instructors when neededReinforce learning strategies such as note-taking, time management, task planning, and prioritizationAccompany students to clubs, campus events, and extracurricular activities,



helping them feel comfortable and connectedFoster positive peer interactions and support students in developing social communication skills in real-world settingsIntroduce students to campus resources, spaces, services, and opportunities that align with their interests and goalsAssiststudents in accessing campus supports, including Accessibility Services, academic advising, library resources, and student wellness servicesEncourage self-advocacy, decision-making, and problem-solving while promoting student independenceModel positive academic, social, and professionalbehavioursin classroom and campus environmentsMaintain regular communication with the Learning Support Coordinator and Accessibility Services staffregardingstudent progress, achievements, and concernsQualificationsWe'relooking for compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic students who are passionate about helping others succeed.Current post-secondary student in good academic standing (preferred but may consider alumni or recentgrads)Experience working with autistic individuals or people with disabilities is considered an asset.Interest in disability inclusion, neurodiversity, education, psychology, social work, healthcare, student development, or related fieldsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsComfort working with and supporting diverse learnersPatience, reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitudeAbility to model positive academic habits, organization, and time management skillsClean Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record CheckValid Standard First Aid with Level C CPR & AED certificationPreviousexperience in mentoring, tutoring, coaching, volunteering, leadership, or peer support roles is beneficialTraining and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.Why You'll Love This RoleMake a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow studentsGain hands-on experience in mentorship,
