JamLab is growing! We’re looking for passionate, fun and inspiring professional guitarists to join our team of Musical Mentors.

As one of the GTA’s leading fully mobile music schools, JamLab brings personalized music lessons directly to our students’ homes. We’re currently looking for Guitar Musical Mentors who are willing and able to travel to students’ homes throughout Midtown Toronto, North Toronto and North York.

Our approach to music education is fun, engaging and personalized. We’re looking for skilled musicians who love working with young people and want to help students build confidence, creativity and a genuine love of music.

Responsibilities

- Provide engaging, personalized in-home guitar lessons
- Work primarily with school-aged children, as well as students of varying ages and skill levels
- Create lesson plans based on each student’s interests, abilities and goals
- Foster a positive, encouraging and fun learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress
- Help students prepare for JamLab Family Jams and other performance opportunities
- Participate in educational webinars and professional development opportunities
- Provide progress updates and certificates of completion as required
- Support JamLab marketing initiatives,



including occasional social media content

What We’re Looking For

- Strong guitar skills and professional music experience
- Experience teaching or mentoring children is preferred
- A passion for rock, pop, jazz and contemporary music
- Gigging or professional performance experience is an asset
- A fun, encouraging and less traditional approach to music education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Must be willing and able to travel to students’ homes throughout Midtown Toronto, North Toronto and North York
- Reliable transportation is an asset
