Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments tailored to each client’s preferences and hair type
- Provide expert advice on hair care routines, products, and styles to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure safety and hygiene compliance
- Engage with clients through active communication to understand their needs and deliver personalized service experiences
- Assist at the front desk by scheduling appointments, managing walk-ins, and processing retail sales of hair care products
- Upsell additional services or products to maximize client satisfaction and salon revenue opportunities
- Keep detailed records of services provided for future reference and client follow-up
Experience
- Proven experience as a hairstylist or cosmetologist with a strong portfolio of work showcasing diverse styles
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain positive relationships
- Knowledge of current hair trends, techniques, and product lines
- Strong communication skills to effectively listen to clients’ desires and explain styling options clearly
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with sanitation standards and safety protocols within a salon setting
- Previous retail sales experience is a plus, demonstrating confidence in upselling products or services
