The Opportunity

Are you an experienced recruiter who knows how to take a hiring need and turn it into a thoughtful, well-run recruitment process, from sourcing the right candidates through to offer?

McInnes Cooper is seeking a Recruitment Specialist to join our People & Culture team in a full-time, 12-month contract position based in Halifax. This is a hands‑on role for someone who knows recruitment. You understand how to find talent, assess fit, manage multiple searches, build effective recruitment processes and use data to continuously improve how hiring gets done.

You will recruit across the firm while also taking the lead role in our law student and articled clerk recruitment program.

Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end recruitment, from understanding workforce and hiring needs through sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offers and employment contracts.
- Build robust sourcing strategies and compelling job postings that reach and attract the right candidates.
- Lead our law student and articled clerk recruitment processes, including planning, timelines, candidate engagement, interviews, events and coordination with law schools.
- Build and manage effective recruitment workflows, keeping multiple searches moving while creating a consistent and positive candidate and hiring‑manager experience.
- Track and analyze recruitment data and trends, using insights to inform sourcing strategies, workforce planning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Bring at least three years of dedicated recruitment experience and are confident managing searches from beginning to end.
- Know how to source talent, not simply process applicants, and can adapt your approach when the right candidates aren't coming to you.
- Understand recruitment best practices, candidate assessment, inclusive hiring and the importance of a strong candidate experience.
- Are highly organized and can confidently manage multiple recruitment processes,



stakeholders and deadlines at the same time.

A recruitment certification or related professional credential; experience in legal, professional services, student or early‑talent recruitment would be an asset.

The salary range for this position is $63,200 to $94,800 annually. Individual compensation is determined based on the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors.
