YW Calgary Crisis Shelter2003 16 Street SECalgary, AB T2G5B7, CANDescriptionReporting to the Manager, Crisis Shelter & Affordable Housing, the Women's Support Partner is responsible for providing inclusive and equitable support to women and their children residing in our domestic violence shelter. This position works collaboratively with the shelter team to ensure effective and empowering services are in place for women and children impacted by domestic violence.WHAT WE OFFERTruly rewarding work; contribute to lasting, positive change for clients and our communityA supportive team setting and opportunities for professional developmentA positive workplace cultureOnsite fitness at a discount and priority access to childcare facilitiesPaid time off ( for eligible roles; prorated based on startdate) includes:3 weeks of paid vacation6 personal days12 sick daysA paid day off to celebrate your birthdayWHAT YOU'LL DOUse principles of client-centered, trauma-informed care to provide support for women and children shelter residents who have experienced violenceAnswer all calls on the 24-hour crisis line during shift, screen potential residents and support transition to another shelter or support if we cannot accommodateConduct intake with residents, including risk assessment and safety planningBuild and maintain positive, supportive, non-judgmental, and respectful resident relationsSupport and assist shelter residents with questions, concerns, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, bedding, food,



and other needs as they ariseProvide information about and/or referrals to appropriate community agencies and resourcesProvide move-in and move-out room checks with residents if moves occurMaintain the safety and security of the shelter and report concerns to the organizational and/or facilities on callMonitor security cameras and entrances to ensure safetyEnsure the privacy and confidentiality of all shelter residents and monitor the admission of guests, visitors, vendors, contractors, and authorities as requiredCommunicate necessary resident information at shift change to incoming teamMaintain shelter cleanliness through light housekeeping; support inventory management by monitoring and restocking supplies as neededEnter and maintain resident information in electronic and physical filesKeep accurate records and ensure data entry is completed on time and according to organizational and program standardsComplete data audits regularly to ensure data entry is accurateSupport with pre and post surveys and other data collection as requiredIntegrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into one's role, work, and engagement with othersShare individual accountability to create and maintain inclusive and safe spaces and practices (physically and psychologically) that are open, transparent, and encourage accountability and advocacyUnderstand and remain current with YW Calgary Health, Safety and Wellness policies, practices and protocolsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in social work or equivalent in the Human Services field. A combination of other education and relevant experience will also be considered1-3 years experience working in a crisis or shelter settingFirst Aid and CPR certification; Brain Story certification, ASIST,
