Heavy Duty Mechanic / Service Shop Foreman

$45–$55 per hour | Winterburn Road

Red Ram Truck Parts & Service is a family-owned Alberta company that has served the heavy-duty trucking industry since 1978. We work on the trucks that keep owner-operators and fleets moving across Western Canada.

We have a robust service team, and we’re looking for the experienced HD mechanic who can be its missing piece. If you enjoy solving difficult problems, rebuilding engines, helping other techs improve, and taking pride in the repair that leaves your bay, we’d like to meet you.

This is a hands-on foreman role. You’ll still diagnose, rebuild, test, and repair engines and trucks while working with the Service Manager to guide the team, keep jobs moving, and maintain a high standard of workmanship. You’ll have room to grow as a leader and a real voice in how the shop operates.

What you’ll do

- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, with a focus on engines, electrical, drivability, emissions, and aftertreatment.
- Rebuild heavy-duty diesel engines, including teardown, inspection, measurement, assembly, and documentation.
- Test rebuilt engines and completed repairs, investigate any issues, and confirm they’re ready for service.
- Help technicians work through difficult diagnostic, rebuild, and repair jobs.
- Coach apprentices and share the practical knowledge you’ve built over your career.




- Support job planning, shop workflow, quality checks, and safe work practices.
- Work with the Service Manager to address issues that slow the team down.

What you bring

- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
- Strong heavy-duty diesel diagnostic, engine rebuilding, testing, and repair experience.
- The ability to explain a problem clearly and help another tech solve it.
- Pride in doing the job right, documenting the work, and standing behind the repair.
- Your own tools.

Foreman experience is an asset, but it isn’t essential. If you’re the tech others already turn to for help, we want to talk to you. The position pays $45–$55 per hour, based on experience, and is located on Winterburn Road. At Red Ram, you’ll be part of a close team backed by a company with deep roots in the heavy-truck industry.
