The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Advisor. We are seeking a relationship-focused HR professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for partnering with leaders and employees to foster an engaged, high-performing workplace, while approaching their work through a lens of inclusion, belonging, and reconciliation.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for:

- Providing consultation and advice to managers and staff on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters;
- Leading workplace investigations related to employee relations matters and providing objective findings, advice, and recommendations;
- Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures;
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport;
- Coordinating, guiding, and participating in the recruitment and selection process; and,
- Participating in other duties and special projects, as assigned.





The ideal candidate has a degree in Human Resources or a related field and progressive experience supporting a broad range of people and organizational initiatives within a unionized public sector setting. They are a collaborative and solutions-oriented professional with strong business acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to partner effectively with leaders and employees. The successful candidate demonstrates empathy, patience, and responsiveness, applying an inclusive and people-centered approach to their advice, decision-making, and workplace interactions. They exercise sound judgment, possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, demonstrate strong organizational capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement. A CPHR designation is considered an asset. The District offers an optional compressed work week and excellent benefits and pension plans. The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License are required.

Salary

$102,700 - $115,500 per annum
