Learn more about us at www.Blg.Com.This position is for an existing vacancy.Purpose of RoleYou will be a key member of a dynamic and innovative group of lawyers, paraprofessionals and legal support staff, providing the highest level of service to our clients, while having the chance to cultivate your skills as part of our successful national Commercial Real Estate team, within Canada's premier full-service law firm.Right from the start, you will have access to exceptional opportunities, working with a supportive team focused on providing you with meaningful opportunities to tailor your career path in order to reach your full potential.Key Responsibilities and SkillsRight from the start you will:Play a critical role in assisting our lawyers with commercial real estate transactionsBe responsible for conducting, reviewing, and reporting on title and off-title searches and other real estate related due diligenceInteract with the land registry office and problem-solve procedural matters in real-time to facilitate and address unique title issuesManage and organize portfolio transactions and liaise with multiple key stakeholders in relation to ongoing mattersDraft key documentation including requisitions, closing documents, transaction books and final reportsParticipate in the closing,
purchase sale and financing transactionsBe responsible for matter management and data management, including scoping and budgetingCollaborate and contribute as an important member of the team, and provide unwavering commitment to excellent client serviceWhat you will bring to this role:7+ years of experience in a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk role preferred; consideration will be given to candidates with strong comparable experienceKnowledge of Registry, Land Titles and Polaris systems of title searching and registration, in both paper-based and electronic land registration systemsExperience with electronic database filingsCommunity College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate (or equivalent)Strong computer and electronic document skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelProfessional demeanor and strong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to process a high volume of documentation with excellent attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills and a team playerExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenA strong work ethic and commitment to excellenceBilingual (French) reading and writing abilities an assetWhat does BLG have to offer you?A hybrid working environment with technology reimbursements to support digital workingCertification in Legal Project Management (LPM)Access to our market leading mentoring programA talent development framework that helps you develop your desired career path, including access to training and continued education opportunitiesExceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programsA competitive compensation and benefits package, access to wellness platforms and programs, and a day off to volunteer in your community.
