Design Engineer - Mechanical / Industrial EquipmentWe're hiring a Design Engineer to join a growing industrial equipment manufacturer in Orangeville.This is not a drafting-only position. We're looking for someone who can take a project from a customer requirement through to a complete, build-ready design package and understands how their designs will actually be fabricated, assembled and used in the field.You'll work closely with operations and technical leadership on both custom equipment projects and standard product development.What You'll Be DoingDesign custom industrial equipment and mechanical assemblies using Autodesk InventorCreate detailed 3D models and complete production/fabrication drawingsPrepare BOMs, tolerances, GD&T, weld callouts and fabrication notesTake customer requirements and translate them into practical, manufacturable solutionsManage drawing revisions, engineering changes and documentationWork directly with production to resolve design and fabrication challengesImprove existing designs for manufacturability, lead time and costSupport development and standardization of the company's OEM product lineReverse engineer worn or obsolete equipment components when drawings are unavailableTake field measurements and recreate components for manufacturingMaintain accurate part,



BOM and revision information within the ERP systemSupport service, parts and operations teams with technical questions and documentationWhat We're Looking ForDiploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related disciplineApproximately 3-5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experienceStrong experience with Autodesk InventorExperience designing industrial machinery, custom equipment, automation, conveyors, material handling equipment or fabricated assembliesStrong understanding of:Welding and weldmentsMachiningSheet metal / structural fabricationMechanical assembliesGD&T and engineering drawingsExperience producing complete drawing packages that can go directly to the manufacturing floorExperience working with BOMs, ERP systems and revision controlComfortable working directly with manufacturing, fabrication and shop-floor teamsAble to manage projects independently and take ownership of designs from start to finishExperience with shot blast equipment, surface preparation equipment or heavy industrial machinery would be an asset, but it is not required.Schedule: Monday-Friday, on-siteEmployment: Full time, permanentCompensation: Competitive based on experience + performance incentives
