We are looking for independent and motivated individuals to join our team as Industrial Security Guards to support evacuation services.

Wage: Starting at $21.56 per hour

- 12 hour shifts
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Required Documents, License/Certification:

- Valid Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid / CPR Certification
- Class G Driver’s License (asset)
- Acceptable Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check

As an Industrial Security Guard, your key duties and responsibilities include:

Site Security & Access Control:

- Enforce strict access control at all mine entry and exit points, including personnel gates, equipment yards, processing facilities, and explosives storage areas.
- Conduct thorough identification and credential checks for all personnel, contractors, and visitors entering the mine site.
- Monitor and operate CCTV and electronic surveillance systems covering underground portals, surface operations, and perimeter fencing.
- Prevent unauthorized access to high-risk zones including mill operations, tailings ponds, cyanide storage, and refinery/vault areas.
- Perform regular foot and vehicle patrols across all assigned areas, including remote and outdoor zones in variable weather conditions.

Mine Specific Duties:
- Secure processing, and storage areas during shift changes, transfers, and audits in coordination with mine management.
- Monitor movement/protection of high-value materials including gold ore, concentrate, and bullion — ensuring compliance with chain-of-custody protocols.
- Support and enforce site procedures related to explosives handling, controlled substances, and hazardous material zones as per regulatory requirements.
- Assist with anti-theft and employee integrity screening procedures, including bag checks and random searches per site policy.
- Liaise with mine supervisors, safety officers,



and external law enforcement or regulatory agencies during incidents or inspections.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations including Ontario Mining Act, MSHA standards, or equivalent provincial/federal requirements.

Emergency Response & Incident Management:
- Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies, and critical incidents including fire, medical events, industrial accidents, and security breaches.
- Coordinate with Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and conduct first responder duties including First Aid/CPR when required.
- Participate in emergency drills including fire evacuations, muster point procedures, and underground rescue coordination support.
- Accurately document and submit all incident, accident, and near-miss reports to the Operations Manager in real time.

Compliance & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed security logs, patrol records, and visitor registers in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Operate computer-based security management systems for data entry, reporting, and evidence storage.
- Remain current with all applicable local, provincial, and federal security and mining safety regulations.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Required

- Valid Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
- Valid class G Driver’s License with explicit Driver’s Abstract.
- Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CPIC clearance)
- Ability to work remotely on a 7 on 7 off or 14 on and 14 off rotational schedule

Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Experience in mining, industrial, or construction site security
- Familiarity with Mine Safety regulations and hazard recognition in mining environments.
- Experience with electronic surveillance, access control systems, and security software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security reporting software
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Working Conditions

- This position is based at a remote mining operation.




- The standard rotation consists of a minimum of 7 consecutive days on site followed by 7 days off, with some assignments operating on 14 days on and 14 days off schedule.
- Guards will be required to work across a range of outdoor and underground settings, including open pit areas, underground mine tunnels, processing plants, and various surface facilities.
- Temperatures can reach as high as +30°C in the summer and drop to -20°C or below during winter months.
- The wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toe boots, high-visibility vests, and hearing protection, is mandatory at all times within designated zones.
- Accommodation and meals on site will be provided to all Guards throughout their rotation period.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (12 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, including short-distance running
- Capability to physically intervene when required (within training and policy limits)
- Ability to work in crowded, noisy, and high-stress environments
- Ability to work extended hours with sustained focus and situational awareness
- Ability to work in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor, heat, cold, confined spaces)
