Position Overview: Full Time

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (Day shift, , 7:00 am – 3:00 pm)

Location: In office, 343 Saunders Rd, Barrie, Ontario

Reporting To: Manager of Finishing and Cutting

Role Status: New position

As an Industrial Sewer, you will work with sewing machines to create components that meet exacting standards for strength, precision, and consistency. Job Duties (include and are not limited to):

Production & Sewing

- Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g., walking foot, serger etc.) to assemble materials according to specifications.
- Ability to set-up and operate a variety of industrial sewing machines, including but not limited to: single and double-needing sewing machines
- Sew textiles with accuracy and consistency.
- Follow work orders to produce components to exact measurements.





Quality & Accuracy

- Inspect materials and finished products for defects, alignment, and overall quality.
- Make adjustments to stitching, tension, or machine settings to ensure optimal results.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and meet production targets without compromising quality.

Machine & Workspace Maintenance

- Perform basic machine maintenance such as threading, cleaning, oiling, and minor troubleshooting.
- Keep work area organized, safe, and stocked with required materials.
- Report equipment issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.

Collaboration & Workflow

- Work closely with production leads to prioritize daily tasks.
- Communicate any material shortages, pattern inconsistencies, or quality concerns.
- Support team members during peak production periods.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous experience operating a sewing machine required
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to stand for periods of time and lift materials as needed.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required for production.
