Classification: Non-ExemptJob Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. This position reports to the Chief Engineer.Essential Functions:Operate automated or computerized control systems, stationary engines and auxiliary equipment such as boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, compressors, pollution control devices and other equipment to provide heat, ventilation, refrigeration, light and power for buildings, industrial plants and other work sitesStart up and shut down power plant equipment, control switching operations, regulate water levels and communicate with systems operators to regulate and co-ordinate transmission loads, frequency and line voltagesMonitor and inspect plant equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, meters and other instruments to measure temperature, pressure and fuel flow, to detect leaks or other equipment malfunctions and to make sure plant equipment is operating at maximum efficiencyAnalyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctionsTroubleshoot and perform corrective action and minor repairs to prevent equipment or system failureClean and lubricate generators, turbines, pumps and compressors and perform other routine equipment maintenance duties using appropriate lubricants and hand, power and precision toolsMay assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety proceduresInstalls, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on industrial processing equipment, water levels,



water systems and other equipment and systemsTroubleshoots electrical issuesResponds to daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion to minimize equipment downtimeProvides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipmentDiagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustmentsLooks for opportunities to continually improve maintenance processesWorks with all plant personnel in a cooperative and qualified mannerStrictly adheres to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by Alsco, law, and what is recognized as common practice in the industryEnsures work is performed safely and efficientlyMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications. Remains current on equipment and repair procedures and best practicesStudies blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct operation of machineryProficient in reading electrical schematicsMaintains accurate and timely records of maintenance performedFollows written and verbal instructions and performs other tasks as directed by supervisionComplies with all Federal, State and local lawsAdditional Functions:May work with and support other branch personnel as required by supervisionDrive and pick up parts, transport equipment, parts, etc.Qualifications:Have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or other safety violationsMinimum of two years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics,
