Instructor Therapist – Hope’s Place (Permanent Part‑Time with Opportunity for Full‑Time Hours)

Location: Markham, ON

Starting Wage: $21.00/hour, with performance‑based raises

Hope’s Place is an innovative, inclusive adult day program supporting neurodiverse youth and adults. We are seeking a committed and skilled Instructor Therapist to join our team. This is a permanent position, with mandatory Saturday shifts, and additional weekday shifts available based on program needs and staff availability.

Position Overview

Instructor Therapists work directly on the floor supporting clients through structured programming, life‑skills development, behavioural strategies, and individualized plans. This role requires robust behavioural competence, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and regulated during challenging situations.

This position offers a minimum of 6 hours per week, with the potential to increase up to 40 hours per week depending on performance, availability, and program requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement individualized programming, behavioural strategies, and skill‑building activities
- Support clients during group and 1:1 sessions
- Follow behaviour support plans and apply behavioural strategies consistently
- Collect data and complete required documentation
- Maintain a safe, trauma‑informed, supportive environment
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and structured activities
- Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure high‑quality, consistent support




- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and performance reviews

Required Qualifications

- Full CPI / Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention certification (current and complete)
- DSW or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals who present behavioural challenges, including aggression, self‑injury, or high‑support needs
- Strong understanding of ABA principles, prompting hierarchies, and behaviour management strategies
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and regulated during behavioural incidents
- Comfortable working in a busy, active environment with diverse needs
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance — especially Saturdays
- Assets (Not Required)
