(Alberta Electrical Utility Code) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulationsEnsure proper care and use of vehicles, equipment, and work sitesFamiliar with confined and restricted space work requirementsAs a Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT) you will under direct supervision, perform activities related to the electrical construction, maintenance, repair or testing on energized and de-energized power lines, as required up to system voltage limitsHave skills in live line technique using rubber gloves on voltages up to, and including 25kvPerform underground splicing, terminating and cable pullingRecognize, assess and control potentially hazardous situations in the work environmentFunction effectively as an integral part of a work groupWork safely in all conditions and possess knowledge of Industry standard protected working practicesOther duties as assignedQualifications & ExperienceMust meet ENMAX Corporation's requirements as to qualifications and/or qualify under the Apprenticeship and Industry Training Act with respect to the related electrical tradeMust have a proven safety record and thorough knowledge of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Practices (SWPs)Must have a valid Province of Alberta driver's license, upgrade as requiredQualified as Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT)



and be willing and able to obtain an interprovincial equivalencyGeneral knowledge of the principals involved in the construction and maintenance of underground cable installationsExperience in rubber glove live line work (Preference will be given to applicants with 25kv rubber glove experience as well as underground splicing and terminating)Knowledge of the Electrical and Communications Utility Systems (E.C.U.C.- Safety Codes Act) and Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations as they pertain to the tradeKnowledge of Industry standard safe working practicesWilling to assist and train apprenticesEnsures proper care and use of vehicles, equipment, and the worksite under your directionWork comfortably in underground confined space environments and adverse climate conditionsAble to communicate effectively to address customer concerns in a professional mannerHas had exposure to high stress situations and the ability to manage stress effectivelyPossess a valid Provincial Class 5 driver's license and the ability to obtain a Province of Alberta Class 1 driver's license is essentialWorking knowledge of MS Windows, MS OfficeMust be willing to upgrade qualifications as requiredMust be legal to work in Canada and requires the successful completion of a criminal background check and a pre-employment medical screen (including drug and alcohol testing)Two pieces of valid Government issued ID will be requiredTwo professional references will be requestedEducation requirements for this position will be verified by a third partyApplicants will be required to provide a current driver's abstract (those with more than 6 demerits will not be considered)
