5 international volunteer opportunities | Tanzania & Peru | 5 months

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Canada is recruiting experienced professionals for five international volunteer opportunities through our new partnership with Cuso International.

These opportunities connect professionals in Canada with local organizations in Tanzania and Peru, where they will contribute their skills and experience to technical training, education and capacity building based on locally identified priorities.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Moshi, Tanzania

- Heavy Moving Equipment (HME) Advisor - Support technical training and instructor capacity related to heavy moving equipment.
- Fitting and Machining Advisor - Strengthen practical training, teaching approaches and instructor capacity in fitting and machining.
- Plater and Welding Advisor - Support hands-on technical training and instructor development in plating and welding.
- Auto Electrical Advisor – Heavy Moving Equipment (HME) - Strengthen practical training in vehicle electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics and instructor capacity.

Lima, Peru

- Project Lead – Mining Education Program - Support the design of an educational program focused on responsible mining through research, stakeholder engagement, program development and educational content planning.

ABOUT THE ROLES

These are international volunteer opportunities, not salaried employment positions. The roles are five months in length, with anticipated start dates in October or November 2026 depending on the position.

Specific education, skilled experience and language requirements vary by role. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.





The opportunities are offered through EWB Canada’s partnership with Cuso International as part of the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project.

Cuso International provides volunteers with a comprehensive support package that includes a monthly living allowance, accommodation, health insurance, round-trip airfare, visa and work permit costs, pre-placement and in-country training, ongoing local support, and access to the Employee Assistance Program during and after the placement.
