Qualifications

MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques is required

EXPERIENCE:

- One year of directly-related experience preferred
- Experience with field plot maintenance, gas sampling, sample preparation is required.
- Experience with installation, retrieval and processing of PRS probes is required.
- Data processing, analysis, and visualization experience required.
- Experience with soil and crop sampling, processing and analysis is required.
- Laboratory analysis of soils for pH, EC and particle size distribution is required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
- Computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and Origin are required.
- Collection of soil samples using hand probes, required.
- Sampling of PRS probes, required.
- Setup of controlled experiments for greenhouse gas emission and ammonia volatilization measurement, required.




- Data analysis using SAS software, required.
- Good physical endurance to work in the field in summer, required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid Manitoba Driver’s license, required.

- Data processing and preparation for analysis
- Preparation of tables, graphs and figures for technical reports and journal manuscripts
- Other duties as assigned.
