The successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in various sectors (resource, municipal, energy and mining) and will possess a strong background in surveying, inspecting, and designing infrastructure through various sectors with a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, design, construction, and commissioning of projects. This position will involve a mix of field and office work, ranging throughout the year and based on project requirements. There are opportunities for this position in both our Smithers and Campbell River Offices.Major Job Functions:Structure Condition AssessmentConstruction SurveysGeotechnical Assessments (Test pits, infiltration testing,



material sampling etc.)Surveying (Total Station & GPS)Preparing Engineering Drawings for projects in various sectorsCoordinating project drawings and reportsProject Management and Contract AdministrationSpecific Skills and Knowledge:Flexibility, organizational and time management skillsExcellent Attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientatedStrong Communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.Motivated and Energetic Self StarterStrong Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skillsA committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer service focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with clients.Education and Experience:Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or Equivalent ExperienceMinimum one year experience in a design or consulting engineering environmentProficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LTSalary:$65,000-$110,000 annually, plus benefits.
