We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Line Cook to join a growing Filipino food and hospitality team in Winnipeg.

This role is for someone who is genuinely passionate about cooking Filipino food or is excited to learn it with care, curiosity, and respect. You will help prepare, cook, and plate Filipino comfort food for regular service, celebrations, private events, and shared dining experiences. Every dish should reflect consistency, generosity, and the feeling of being welcomed to the table.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place according to recipes, prep lists, and food-safety standards.
- Cook and plate menu items accurately, consistently, and on time during lunch, dinner, private events, and special functions.
- Follow established Filipino recipes, portion standards, plating direction, and kitchen procedures.
- Learn and execute Filipino cooking methods, flavours, ingredients, and menu items with care and attention to detail.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked work station throughout each shift.
- Monitor food quality, temperature, freshness, seasoning, and presentation before dishes leave the kitchen.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and service teams during preparation and service.
- Support preparation for events, tasting menus, celebrations, and large-format shared dining when scheduled.
- Assist with receiving, rotating, storing, labelling, and handling food safely.
- Follow all sanitation, workplace safety, allergen-awareness, and food-handling procedures.
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work duties as assigned.
- Help reduce waste by following portioning, storage,



and product-rotation practices.
- Contribute to a respectful, reliable, and solutions-focused kitchen culture.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, cook, or in a comparable fast-paced kitchen is preferred.
- A genuine passion for Filipino food is essential. Experience preparing Filipino cuisine is a strong asset, but we also welcome cooks who are eager to learn Filipino dishes, ingredients, and cooking traditions with respect.
- Familiarity with Filipino dishes, flavours, and ingredients such as adobo, sinigang, kare-kare, pancit, sisig, lechon, barbecue, or regional vegetable and soup dishes is an asset.
- Ability to follow recipes, preparation lists, portion standards, and direction from kitchen leadership.
- Strong sense of urgency, organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently at a station while collaborating closely with a team.
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment and managing multiple tasks during service.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a skilled attitude.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain it if required.

Physical and Schedule Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods during a shift.
