The Role

We are currently seeking experienced, safety-first Cross-Border Truck Drivers to manage long-haul routes across Canada and the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for the protected, timely, and compliant transport of refrigerated and dry freight across international borders. You will operate top-of-the-line tractor-trailers, navigate cross-border customs seamlessly, and represent Coast to Coast Xpress on the front lines of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Safe Operation: Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles (tractor-trailers) across varying weather conditions and terrains spanning Canada and the US.
- Temperature-Controlled Freight: Manage reefer units and monitor temperatures to ensure perishable goods (including meat and fresh produce) remain compliant with safety standards. Coordinate smoothly with meat inspection facilities at border crossings or delivery points.
- Cross-Border Navigation: Ensure complete compliance with all international customs and border regulations. Submit necessary documentation via ACE/ACI manifests efficiently.
- Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route,



and post-trip vehicle inspections (tires, brakes, lights, cargo securement). Promptly report any mechanical defects to maintenance.
- Log Book Compliance: Maintain strictly accurate records of driving time, fuel consumption, and distance using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) in compliance with both Canadian Hours of Service and US FMCSA regulations.
- Communication: Maintain active, clear communication with dispatchers, brokers, and border security agents.

Required Qualifications & Credentials

- Licensing: Valid Class 1 or AZ Commercial Driver’s License with a clean commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits in the past 5 years).
- Cross-Border Clearance: Must possess a valid Passport and be legally eligible to enter the United States. A valid FAST Card or TWIC card is highly preferred and required within 90 days of hire.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old to legally drive commercial vehicles in the USA.
- Regulatory Compliance: Must pass and remain compliant with US Department of Transportation (DOT) and FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including registration in the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable long-haul commercial driving experience. Previous cross-border experience and experience with refrigerated/reefer trailers is a strong asset.
- Background: Clean criminal record check (required for border crossing).
