Role Description The Mail Shop Production Assistant is a full time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB. This position supports the mail shop production workflow, including preparing, sorting, and processing printed materials for mailing and distribution. Day-to-day tasks include operating and monitoring mail-processing equipment, labeling and packaging items, organizing batches according to postal and client specifications, and verifying job accuracy and quality.
The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following production schedules,
completing basic documentation, and coordinating with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines and service standards.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling printed materials, and commitment to quality control.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mail shop or production equipment (e.g., inserters, inkjet).
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight production deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move bundles of printed materials, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Familiarity with mailing procedures, postal requirements, or print production environments is an asset.
- Basic computer skills for viewing job tickets, updating production logs, and following digital work instructions.
- Previous experience in print, mail shop, or manufacturing settings is an advantage, though candidates with relevant transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
