We are currently seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Maintenance Helper to join our maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their mechanical skills while supporting the maintenance and reliability of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Overview The Maintenance Helper is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Department, this position plays a key role in supporting equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring a safe working environment.

This is a hands-on position best suited for someone who enjoys mechanical work, problem solving, and learning industrial maintenance practices in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Equipment Support

- Assist with preventative maintenance programs and scheduled equipment inspections.
- Support maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Perform basic repairs on conveyors, mixers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
- Help maintain maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition.

Facility Maintenance





- Assist with repairs and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure.
- Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance requirements and safety concerns.
- Support welding, fabrication, and general repair activities as required.
- Assist with inventory control of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Participate in plant shutdowns and major maintenance projects.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Comply with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and safe work practices.
- Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Teamwork & Communication

- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance personnel.
- Communicate equipment concerns and maintenance needs effectively.
- Support the Maintenance Manager and senior maintenance staff with department objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
- Previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Millwright apprenticeship enrollment or interest in pursuing a Millwright trade considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, and mechanical systems is an asset.
- Ability to read measuring devices and basic mechanical drawings.




- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
