The right person will have a passion for problem-solving, operational optimization, and working within a team. In this role, you will:Develop SOPs and project/site-specific execution plans for startup and commissioning activitiesOversee in office commissioning activities, adherence to EHS requirements, and maintenance of quality recordsLead and participate hands-on in the inspection, testing, and operation of equipment and plant processesComplete construction walkdowns to ensure quality system readiness for commissioningTrain operators through direct demonstration, classroom instruction, and detailed written instructionsManage the schedule and budget of project and/or commissioning activities and resourcesWrite, review, and edit technical documentation, including root cause memos, technical papers, design reports, and proposalsPlan and monitor the progress and completion of design work and deliverablesCoordinate the work and interface of multi-disciplinary technical resourcesManage and direct communication with and between stakeholdersParticipate in engineering design reviews and provide feedback to the design engineering team based on field experiencePeriodically support the engineering design group and operations groupQualifications and RequirementsDegree in engineering or a related field; disciplines of preference include chemical, hydrometallurgy, mineral processing, materials, or mechanical engineering5–10 years of experience in process plant design engineering, commissioning, and/or operations in one of the following industries: water treatment, mineral processing, or chemical industriesSolid understanding of the fundamental principles of aqueous inorganic chemistry and the ability to read and apply process specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, gas and instrument lists, etc.Thorough knowledge of industry safety practices and experience managing the implementation of EHS procedures, on-site hazard assessments, and mitigation measuresStrong mechanical aptitude – you have built things before and can figure out how things workCan-do attitude – you always find a way to get things done.
