Position Summary:

We are currently seeking skilled Manual Machinist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the set up and operation of manual milling machines, conventional engine lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precision components within prescribed tolerances. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, experienced in working to close tolerances, and committed to maintain high quality and safety standards in a production setting.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Machine Setup & Operation:

- Interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and accurately lay out workpieces.
- Set up and operate manual milling machines and conventional engine lathes to prescribed tolerances.
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools.
- Adjust production machinery and tooling as required to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.

Quality Assurance:

- Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.




- Confirm product conformance to specifications and tolerance requirements.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.

Health and Safety Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all operational activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by performing basic housekeeping duties.
- Consistently practice safe work habits, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard recognition and implementation of precautionary measures.

Other:

- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Minimum 5 years proven experience operating manual milling machines and conventional lathes in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and metal properties.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and gauges.
- Knowledge of cutting speed, feed, tooling, and work holding
- Basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
