Mechanical Insulation Industry

We are looking for an experienced Business Development /Mechanical Estimator to join our growing mechanical insulation company.

IMPORTANT: Mechanical Insulation Industry Experience is REQUIRED

Mechanical Estimating Experience is REQUIRED

This position is ideal for someone who understands mechanical insulation, can accurately estimate projects, develop robust contractor relationships, and most importantly, turn opportunities and quotations into awarded projects.

CLOSING PROJECTS IS A KEY PART OF THIS ROLE

We are looking for someone who can do more than generate leads or prepare estimates.

The successful candidate must be results-oriented and focused on winning and closing projects. You will be responsible for following opportunities from the initial contact and estimating stage through negotiation, follow-up, and ultimately securing the project.

Generating opportunities is important but closing the project is essential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

✅ Mechanical Insulation Industry Experience – MUST HAVE

✅ Mechanical Estimating Experience – MUST HAVE

✅ Experience estimating pipe insulation, duct insulation, equipment insulation, and related mechanical insulation work

✅ Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and takeoffs

✅ Experience preparing accurate quotations, bids, and tenders

✅ Knowledge of labour, material, and project costing

✅ Proven ability to develop client relationships and close construction projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, quotations, and bids
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and project scopes
- Identify and pursue new mechanical insulation opportunities




- Develop relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, builders, and project managers
- Follow up consistently on quotations and active opportunities
- Negotiate pricing and project terms
- Convert quotations and opportunities into awarded projects
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and actively move opportunities toward closing
- Develop new accounts while maintaining existing client relationships
- Monitor upcoming commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects
- Work closely with estimating and project management teams
- Meet business development and project-award targets

- Has real mechanical insulation industry experience
- Has worked as a mechanical estimator
- Understands how construction projects are priced and awarded

- Is confident communicating and negotiating with clients/ MEETINGS WITH CLIENTS
- Is persistent with follow-ups
- Can identify a good opportunity and take it all the way to a signed/awarded project
- Is motivated by results and business growth
