Mechanical Project Coordinator / Junior Estimator

Entity Mechanical is looking for a Mechanical Project Coordinator / Junior Estimator to join our growing Projects team.

We specialize in commercial and institutional mechanical work, primarily completing upgrades, replacements, retrofits and renovations in schools, hospitals, government facilities and other occupied buildings. We are not a new-construction contractor, so our projects often require creative problem-solving, careful planning and strong coordination with clients, consultants, suppliers and our field teams.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical, plumbing or HVAC background who wants to develop their estimating and project management skills.

What You'll Do

Working closely with our Project Managers, Estimator and field teams, you will help coordinate projects from estimating and startup through construction and final closeout.

Your responsibilities will include

- Assist with estimating, including reviewing drawings and specifications, take-offs, obtaining supplier/subtrade pricing and preparing estimates
- Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials, including purchase orders, pricing and delivery tracking
- Prepare, submit and track shop drawings and submittals
- Assist with change order management, including pricing, documentation and tracking
- Prepare and maintain site-specific safety documentation
- Coordinate required permits, inspections and project documentation
- Prepare and track RFIs
- Maintain organized drawings, specifications, correspondence and project files




- Assist Project Managers with project-related email management and follow-up
- Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, clients and field staff
- Track outstanding project items and follow up to ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with deficiencies, commissioning and project turnover
- Prepare closeout packages and O&M; manuals, including warranties, equipment information, as-builts and other required documentation
- Provide general project coordination support to help keep projects organized, on schedule and moving forward

What We're Looking For Mechanical knowledge is important to us. We're looking for someone who understands—or is eager to build on their understanding of—commercial plumbing and HVAC systems.

Our ideal candidate has

- Previous experience with a mechanical contractor, plumbing/HVAC company or mechanical construction environment
- An understanding of plumbing, HVAC, hydronic and/or mechanical systems
- The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects,



deadlines and competing priorities
- A proactive attitude—you notice what needs to be done and follow it through
- The confidence to communicate with field staff, suppliers, consultants and customers
- An interest in learning estimating and project management

Mechanical Trade Experience? We would especially like to hear from you.

If you're a plumber, HVAC technician, apprentice, foreman, mechanical estimator or other mechanically experienced person looking to transition into an office/project management role, your practical field knowledge could be a major asset in this position.

Previous Project Coordinator experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right mechanically minded person who is organized, motivated and interested in developing a career in project management and estimating.

About the Work

Our Projects division works primarily on existing commercial and institutional facilities rather than new construction. Projects include mechanical upgrades, equipment replacements, plumbing and HVAC renovations and other specialized work within schools, hospitals and government facilities.

You'll be joining a growing mechanical contractor where you'll have exposure to the entire project lifecycle rather than being limited to one small piece of the process.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, benefits and the opportunity to grow into increased estimating and project management responsibility as your experience develops.

Pay: $60,000.00-$78,000.00 per year
