Department: QualityReports to: Quality SupervisorStatus: Full-timeShift: Evening shift (approx. 3:00 PM–11:30 PM or 4:00 PM–12:30 AM), with initial day-shift training and flexibility for potential rotation between day and evening shifts.The pay range for the role is $41,000 to $68,300 plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement savings plan, paid vacation, and other perks and opportunities.Purpose:Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, this position is responsible for day-to-day running of the lab including all required daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tests and calibrations and as required.Key ResponsibilitiesConducts daily chemical tests, including pH, fat, moisture and saltPerforms microbiological tests, for Coliform, E. coli, Staph,



yeast and moldPerforms all necessary equipment calibrations within the plantConducts environmental testing, including air quality, water and equipment swabsPerforms lab documentation in a timely and accurate mannerCleans, prepares and maintains laboratory equipmentMaintains a clean and protected lab area at all timesConducts daily GMP inspectionsOther duties as assignedQualificationsPost-Secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology or related disciplineMinimum 2 years of experience in the food industryUnderstanding of CFIA regulations and FSEP/SFCR requirements is an assetExperience with MS office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)Ability to work off shift, various hours and some weekends
