This position offers an excellent prospect for professional growth and development within your area of expertise.Responsibilities will be divided between fieldwork (70%), which includes travel and working remotely, and in-office support (30%).Occasionally, this position may require the applicant to work alone for extended periods of time (following appropriate safety protocols).As an Environmental Field Technician,



your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Conduct Biophysical AssessmentsPerform Wildlife Sweeps and Nest SearchesCarry out Targeted Species SurveysComplete Wetland AssessmentsAnalyze field data to develop management and mitigation strategiesDeliver accurate and timely technical reportsLiaise with on-site client representatives and contractorsAssist the Project Manager in preparing and supporting regulatory applicationsAssist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the teamWe are looking for the following skills and qualifications:Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detailFlexibility and adaptability to changing work environmentsFamiliarity with the environmental permitting and approvals processKnowledge of AER OneStop system (an asset)Understanding of Sensitive Species Inventory Guideline protocolsKnowledge of the Public Land Act (an asset)Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal environmental legislation (an asset)Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, plant and wildlife identification, field data collection, and reportingEligibility for Alberta's Professional Regulatory OrganizationsWillingness to learn and grow in the roleAbility to clearly and concisely communicate field findingsStrong teamwork and collaboration skillsValid driver's license
