Title: Night Supervisor

Reports to: Manager of Residence Life

Job Summary

Provides nighttime support, supervision and security services for Fulford Academy residence and students

Duties and Tasks

- Provides supervision and care for students in residence during the nighttime hours
- Ensures that the building is secure and that all students are settled and in their assigned rooms during the nighttime hours
- Provides one-on-one care to students who may experience personal, social or medical difficulties
- Assesses situations to evaluate when further action is required (i.e. calling for medical assistance, calling administrator for crisis management, calling for emergency assistance)
- Performs security patrols of Academy building during the night
- Watches for, investigates, and reports on security-related issues, threats, and unusual circumstances, such as doors left unlocked, windows left open, suspicious persons, fire hazards, or equipment mistakenly left on
- Writes and maintains standardized incident-related reports and logs for daytime staff information




- Communicates with evening shift and daytime personnel to keep them aware of situations, incidents and information regarding the safety, discipline and well being of students
- Performs some administrative duties as assigned
- Additional related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Secondary, Post Secondary education.

Experience:

Experience dealing with adolescent’s personal and social needs in a camp, school or other residential setting.

Experience interacting with children and adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Skills:

Ability to control student behavior through establishing and maintaining a supportive and respectful atmosphere of supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to assess situations and take appropriate level of action to ensure safety, security and well being of students and residence. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
