Responsibilities
Install torch-on modified-bitumen roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Prepare roof surfaces by removing old materials, cleaning, priming, and repairing damaged areas.
Measure, cut, position, and install roofing membranes, base sheets, and cap sheets.
Use propane torches to heat and seal roofing membrane seams and surfaces.
Install flashing around vents, drains, skylights, walls, curbs, and other roof penetrations.
Apply roofing adhesives, sealants, primers, and other materials as required.
Inspect completed work for proper adhesion, seams, flashing, drainage, and water-tightness.
Repair leaks and damaged roofing systems.
Safely operate roofing tools, propane equipment, ladders, and other equipment.
Follow workplace safety procedures, including fire prevention and fall protection requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications
Previous roofing experience,



preferably with torch-on/modified-bitumen systems.
Knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and flashing details.
Ability to safely operate a propane torch.
Comfortable working at heights and performing physically demanding work.
Positive hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
Valid driver’s licence may be required.
Fall protection and other applicable safety certifications are an asset.
