Responsibilities
Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other heavy equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and walkways
Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality
Coordinate with dispatch or supervisors to prioritize routes based on weather conditions and traffic needs
Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and improve traction on surfaces
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on snow removal equipment to ensure optimal performance
Document work completed, including routes covered and materials used, for record-keeping purposes
Respond swiftly to emergency calls or additional snow removal requests during severe weather events
Requirements
Valid G driver’s license with experience in commercial driving or heavy equipment operation
Proven experience operating snow plows or similar heavy machinery
Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and winter weather conditions
Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed
Strong physical stamina to work outdoors in cold, snowy environments for extended periods
Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors
Prior experience with freight handling or logistics operations is a plus but not required
