Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level II Dental Assistant to join our agile dental practice for maternity coverage. There may be an option to transition into permanent employment The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, proficiency in Abeldent software, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures (including restorative, endodontics, extractions, implant surgeries, periodontal surgeries etc), ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after use.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), dental impressions with alginate, and dental scans with the Itero scanner as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Abeldent dental software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Handle administrative tasks, including inputting dental codes, billing, and insurance verification.




- Support pediatric patients with care tailored to their needs, fostering a comfortable environment.
- Assist in orthodontic procedures when required.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols in compliance with current IPAC guidelines.

Requirements

- HARP certificate is required.
- Certification in Level 2 Dental Assisting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Abeldent dental software applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Experience in pediatrics or orthodontics is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is beneficial.
