Best Brains Learning Centre is seeking a patient, enthusiastic, and dependable Reading Teacher to work with young learners in a small-group setting. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching phonics, early reading, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
Teach reading and English skills to elementary-aged students
Provide instruction in phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, grammar, and writing
Follow the Best Brains curriculum and lesson structure
Support students according to their individual learning needs
Monitor student progress and provide feedback
Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
Communicate professionally with centre staff and parents when required
Qualifications
Experience teaching or tutoring children
Solid English communication and grammar skills
Knowledge of phonics and early literacy instruction
Patient, reliable, organized, and comfortable managing small groups
Ability to teach elementary Math is an asset
Education-related studies or qualifications are preferred A valid Vulnerable Sector Check will be requird.
Schedule
Part-time hours may be available during the following times: Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 4:30 PM–7:30 PM Saturdays: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM Candidates must be able to commute reliably to our Scarborough location. Please apply with your résumé and include your availability.
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
