Location: EdmontonReports To: ForemanStart Date: ASAPAbout the RoleA Few Good Lads is looking for experienced Pipelayers to join construction crews working on municipal water, sewer, and underground infrastructure projects.The Pipelayer will work closely with the Foreman and other crew members to safely and efficiently install piping, manholes, and other underground structures. The successful candidate will have strong hands‐on experience and be comfortable taking a leadership role within the crew, including supporting and mentoring less experienced workers.This is a physically demanding outdoor position that requires someone who is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working in a variety of weather and site conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload tools, materials, and equipmentOperate hand tools and construction equipmentSignal and direct equipment operators when placing sand, rock, pipe, and other materialsAssist with aligning and installing water mains and sewer pipingRead grades using a level and ensure pipe is installed to the correct gradeLead work in the excavation and ensure quality installationDirect labourers and helpers with tamping, backfilling, and other tasksDig around existing pipes and utilities when requiredLift and move plywood, air struts, and other materialsOperate pumps, pneumatic hammers, vibrators,



and tampers as directedGuide excavator operators during final grading and structure installationSafely rig and move manhole materials using chains and strapsMentor and train Pipelayer Helpers and LabourersMaintain a clean and safe work areaFollow all company and site safety proceduresPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsPrevious experience as a PipelayerExperience with water main, sewer, or underground constructionAbility to read and work with grades and elevationsAbility to safely work around heavy equipment and underground utilitiesStrong understanding of construction safety proceduresAbility to lift up to 60 lbs. unaidedValid Class 5 driver's licenceStrong communication and teamwork skillsReliable and safety-focusedRequired CertificationsConfined Space Entry/MonitorH2S AliveFall ProtectionCSTS 2020WHMIS 2015Fit Testing (shaving may be required)Working ConditionsThis is a physically demanding position that requires working in different positions, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.Work is primarily outdoors and may involve dusty, underground, and confined environments, including sewer systems.
