Manager, Community Food OperationsEmployment Type: Full-TimeWork Location: On-site in the Montreal areaSalary: 29$ to 31$ per hourAbout the RoleAn established nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced, organized, and people-focused Managerfor its Community Food Operations with at least five years of direct community experience.The Manager will lead daily operations, staff and volunteers, food safety, inventory, and sourcing, client services, scheduling, and reporting. The Manager will oversee the delivery of consistent, responsive, and respectful services, while developing the processes, resources, and community relationships required to respond effectively to changing needs. The Manager will support operational planning, drive ongoing improvements to service delivery, and help advance the organization's overall capacity and effectiveness.Key Responsibilities:Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient coordination of resources, facilities, and services.Manage the flow of food from intake and storage through distribution, with appropriate inventory and quality controls.Monitor inventory, distribution, waste, and expenses, maintaining accurate records and reporting.Establish and improve operational procedures to promote efficiency, consistency, safety, and service continuity.Ensure compliance with food-safety requirements, including product traceability, temperature monitoring, recalls, inspections, and incident management.Lead staff and volunteers, including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance, engagement, and retention.Oversee client service delivery, ensuring accessible, equitable, confidential, and respectful experiences.Strengthen food supply partnerships with donors, retailers, producers, distributors,



and community organizations while developing food-recovery opportunities.QualificationsAt least five years of relevant experience in food programs, food distribution, or community-based food services.Demonstrated ability to supervise, coordinate, and motivate employees and volunteers.Practical knowledge of food handling requirements, supply procurement, stock management, and distribution operations.Robust supervisory judgment, with demonstrated capacity to organize priorities, address challenges, and make sound operational decisions.Experience overseeing community partnerships, financial resources, operational information, and reporting requirements.College-level diploma (DEC) or a comparable combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.Valid MAPAQ food safety certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.Excellent working proficiency in both French and English, verbally and in writing.Schedule & AvailabilityThis is a permanent, full-time role based at the organization's facilities.
