The Parts Technician receives and processes purchase order requests in a timely manner and follows up regularly with suppliers to monitor part delivery times. This position also performs other functions including checking inventory for product availability, price quotations, and providing delivery status updates internally. and communityWhat You'll Be DoingParts & Inventory ManagementSource and order all parts required for jobsProvide accurate estimates based on part and equipment specifications providedMark materials with identifying information using appropriate methodsVerify that all part numbers and descriptions are recorded and entered correctlyCollaborate with the Lead Service Writer to monitor delivery lead times and scheduling requirements, adjusting as needed to accommodate urgent ordersContact multiple suppliers during the quoting process to ensure competitive pricing and effective supplier relationships, as requiredRespond to incoming calls and email inquiries, routing communications to the appropriate individuals as necessaryProcess and receive purchase orders through Sage 300Parts Ordering & QuotingEnsure that detailed notes are kept current and maintained regularlyEnsure that tracking details include accurate informationReceive items into Sage 300Purchasing & InventoryMaintain mechanical parts inventory levels aligned with demand trendsMonitor and set min/max levels based on inventory turnoverEnsure stock levels consistently meet operational requirementsOrder mechanical parts and shop supplies to maintain adequate inventory levelsFollow-up with suppliers regarding purchase orders issued to confirm arrival dates, stock availability, etc.Generate and review expediting order reports weeklyPerform physical cycle and annual inventory countsWorkorder Coordination & SupportRespond inquiries regarding parts, providing accurate estimates and explanations regarding status, available goods, and delivery timelinesMaintain ongoing communication with the Lead Service Writer regarding updates on parts requestedShipping & ReceivingVerify received and distributed productsIdentify and resolve discrepancies in ordersProvide pick list or order pick up details to the Parts Runner/Shop HandEnsure that the Parts Runner/Shop Hand is assigned and performs all parts running and picking up orders within city limitsWhat You Bring To The TableMinimum Grade 12, or equivalentParts Technician Journeyperson, Parts Management Technician certification, or similar field of study or certification is considered an assetMinimum two (2) years work experience in a mechanical shop, parts management, administration,
