repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systemsRepair or replace mechanical units or componentsTest and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specificationsEstimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairsPerform scheduled maintenance serviceTest and adjust units to specificationsAdvise customers on work performed and future repair requirementsComplete reports to record problems and work performedCoach and instruct apprenticesProvide customer servicePerform other duties as assignedKey RelationshipsMechanics & ApprenticesFleet ManagerDrivers & Driver Services TeamWarehouse ManagerGeneral ManagerOversight of Apprentice MechanicsQualifications & RequirementsThree (3) to Five (5) years' trade experience with 310T certification or Red Seal EndorsementProven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnosticsComfortable coaching and/or mentoring apprentices within a registered apprentice programAbility to work independently and in a team in a busy environmentAttention to DetailAbility to stand for extended periods of timeMust possess tools appropriate for fleet maintenanceMust have CSA approved steel-toed safety bootsG class is requiredAZ licence and welding experience preferredTechnology:Must be PC Literate, with mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and specific job-related software applications.
