Duties & Responsibilities

- Dispensing Support: Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and inventory management to ensure accurate dispensing.
- Patient Care: Provide friendly and professional support to patients, answering questions, managing the cash register, and guiding them through basic pharmacy procedures.
- Compliance & Records: Maintain accurate records of medication, insurance claims, and patient interactions in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Inventory Management: Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries, organizing supplies, and conducting regular inventory checks.
- Health Education: Support patient care activities by helping with medication reminders and basic health education under direct pharmacist supervision.

Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: Prior experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or working in retail pharmacy operations is highly preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant certificate/diploma program is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of medical terminology and familiarity with pharmacy software (e.g., Kroll) is preferred.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate customer service with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Safety Protocols: Solid understanding of general medicine handling and safety protocols.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving healthcare practices.
