One of the fastest growing architectural hardware and electronic security distributors in Canada. We are looking for a full-time Purchasing Agent to join the team at our Ottawa office.

As Purchaser your tasks are to:
Review demand and inventory positions in our ERP (Infor CloudSuite Distribution) and issue purchase orders on a regular cadence for an assigned scope of vendors and branches
Verify vendor acknowledgements to ensure pricing and quantities are correct
Monitor progress of deliveries
Contact clients, in-house sales staff, and suppliers to resolve problems
Help Accounts Payable resolve invoice and purchase-order discrepancies
Bring your ideas and questions — the people doing the work shape how we do it, and suggestions from the team get acted on

Qualifications:
Practical experience in purchasing is valued
Bilingual English/French is a robust asset
Clear written and spoken communication, and the confidence to work by email, Teams and phone with colleagues in seven branches and contacts at dozens of vendors
Positive judgment and decision-making skills




Comfortable with computers including ERP software and good knowledge of Microsoft products – we try to operate in a paperless environment as much as possible
Must be a problem-solver - we are constantly evolving and growing therefore suggestions are always needed
Willing and able to learn new tools and technology and put them to use — we keep investing in the systems behind this role to make the work more efficient, and using them well is part of the job

This job is full-time, Monday to Friday with special summer and Holiday hours, as well as lots of other fun perks. We provide you with full benefits for you and your family. The salary will depend on experience.
