Job Overview:

Midland Food is a energetic and growing seafood wholesale distributor serving the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in delivering high-quality frozen seafood and food products to restaurants, retail markets and other food service businesses.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role suited for a candidate who is operationally robust, detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise warehouse and logistics departments to ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch processes
Oversee logistics planning to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution
Responsible for the general maintenance of the property, including warehouse facilities and equipment maintenance (racking, freezer units, forklifts, dock equipment and related systems)
Oversee vehicle maintenance to ensure no interruption to business operations
Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy and product movement, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing shrinkage




Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control and service quality
Assist the General Manager in implementing operational procedures, SOPs and internal controls
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including health and safety, food safety and transportation

Qualifications
3 - 5 years of experience in a leadership role such as Operations Manager or Warehouse Manager
Experience in food distribution or wholesale environment is required
Experience in inventory management and logistics coordination is an asset
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to coordinate across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good communication and coordination skills
Proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven
Valid forklift license/certification required
