Woodchucks Mouldings, a division of Sandhills Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and have experience with woodworking.

The candidate will learn how to operate various machinery in a wood shop, starting with a laminating machine. Other machinery that a candidate may be trained include Rip Saw, Table Saws, Shapers and Moulders. The Operator will work closely with other team members to maintain high standards of quality and safety in the workplace.

Candidates should be able to work full time as an key member of a team, and be in good shape as the position is physically demanding. This position would be positive for someone with a bit of woodworking knowledge who wants to get into a wood shop with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities
Operate a hydraulic laminating machine that clamps various pieces of wood together, primarily for the moulding and railing industry. May be trained to operate other equipment, such as saws, moulders, sanders, and shapers.




Read and interpret work orders to determine specifications and quantities to glue.
Clean and organize workspace.
Assist other team members as needed.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety guidelines.

Experience
Experience with machinery or wood (specifically hardwood) is preferred, but are willing to train the right candidate
Experience in a manufacturing or wood working shop is advantageous.
Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently is a plus.
